Kids Gymnastics Classes

Gymnastics is a great way to keep your child in shape, teach self-respect, teach discipline, and give your kids an activity that is fun to do. It takes a lot of work and skill to exceed in the world of gymnastics which means there are many different classes to take. If you have a kid that wants to join gymnastics, there are many different types of classes that are age specific to consider.

zumba classes

Children can start practicing and training gymnastics at ages as low as only 12 months old. There is a special class offered called Parents and Tots that involves kids from the age of 12 to 36 months. The main goal of this class is to introduce gymnastics and body control to very young kids, and to help parents motivate their children to try new things.

CLASSES

There is a preschool level class offered for kids that are three to 5 years of age. This class starts teaching more of the basics and helps kids with muscle development, socializing skills, and coordination. Starting kids young will help them grow in many avenues of life as they get older. This program is also a lot of fun because the teachers use many different age appropriate activities and equipment to help your child.

After your child has grown older than 5, this is when the true beginner courses begin. Technically someone of any age can be in a beginner class, making it best to start them off when they are young because they will be ahead later on in the more advanced courses. In a beginner class, your child will learn various different skills and will really start to learn what gymnastics is all about.

As your kid gets older, the classes become more advanced. With the mastery of basic skills and moves, your kid can begin to learn more intermediate and advanced skills that are based off of many of the different types of basic skills.

Any child can become successful with gymnastics. This is a great way to have your kid interact with adults and kids alike, and a great motivator for children to stay in shape. This type of sport also teaches your kids to be more flexible, more willing to learn, and to be a leader. No matter how old or young your child is, and no matter what type of schedule you are dealing with, there are gymnastic classes available to both you and your child.

Now That I'm Single Where The Heck Do I Meet Women?

Where To Meet Women, I've Got Some Better Ideas

You're a single middle aged guy, dating over 40, maybe recently divorced, and ready to get back on the horse (no pun intended). Where do you go to meet women? To the bar you say! Wrong, well at least at first. Come on, get your feet wet.

CNA CLASSES IN INDIANAPOLIS

A bar on a Friday or Saturday night sounds like a great place to meet women but think about it. Women know that all guys are out to hit on them, they've got their guards up and they are ready to do battle! Besides, you're dating over 40 now.

So Mr. Gladiator unless your skills are honed to the max, you're gonna go down. That's not pretty. You don't need that blow to your confidence, at least not yet. Not to say that the bar scene won't work for you, it may, but I have much better ideas.

Try something new

How about salsa dancing, a cooking class, an alpine adventure, white water rafting or even a car show. The point here is to get yourself out there and be social. Do this in a non intimidating social environment that doesn't trigger a girl's "I'm getting hit on radar". This is the key to dating over 40.

Years ago I was using all my resources on Friday and Saturday night at the bars and clubs. I figured out I was only putting eight hours a week into my social life. I was compartmentalizing ( wow big word for me) my social life. Work was work, grocery shopping was buying food. And Xmas shopping was buying presents...nothing more.

I changed. I said what if I make all my usual dull activities and make them all into social events! It worked, man did it work. Dating women had new meaning. Suddenly my eight hours turned into forty hours. I was dressing up to go grocery shopping for Pete's sake!

Dating over 40 is round 2, make it spectacular!

Guys my point is there are so many better places to meet women when your dating over 40. Forget the usual bars and watering holes. Try some new hobbies that may interest you, and join some new groups.

Also when you're doing the everyday mundane tasks, try turning them into social events. Loose the sweats and the baseball hat and act like your over 40. Try using a little eye contact and say "excuse me" and ask a question to a girl. The results will amaze you.

Now That I'm Single Where The Heck Do I Meet Women?

Dating over 40 is the balls, trust me I'm living proof! I think you will agree if you follow my plan. You'll learn where to go, what to wear, how to look and even what to drive! Read all about the joys of dating in your 40's at Dating Over 40 and Dating Tips for Middle Aged Guys!

You'll have fun I promise!

Jobs in My Local Area - What People Are Saying About Them

Local jobs are in great demand and many jobs are generated to meet this demand. It is clear that none of us can travel to jobs beyond a certain distance, due to time and cost constraints. Government departments are aware of the need for jobs in my local area, but can only create a certain number.

Manufacturing is an important industry that recruits many personnel for jobs in my local area like, accountants, mining engineers, customer service people, human resources, geologists etc.

CNA CLASSES IN INDIANAPOLIS

Jobs in my local area are thus created, income remains in local areas, and local partnerships are encouraged. Capacity is built in the community for ongoing services delivery.

Local jobs are mainly available in the mining industry in Wyoming which is very sparsely populated. It is a mountainous state with mountain ranges of the Rocky Mountain west.

Jobs in my local area are unfortunately being lost due to the credit crunch. Let us hope the slow-down will be short lived.

We all like to see new supermarkets opening and see such events as very positive for jobs in the local area. However, the picture may not be as rosy as it at first appears. Supermarket claims that new stores bring in jobs fail to consider the wider picture of local independent retailer bankruptcies.

Jobs in my local area are a priority for more people because of rising gas costs. As the price of gas rises, the cost of commuting is becoming impossible to cover for many workers.

There are a lot of worries about the loss jobs in my local area. A large banking corporation which is a big employer locally announced that the company is not ready to announce specific job cuts. Nevertheless, such cuts are not ruled out. However, it does say the cuts will broadly impact geographic areas and businesses throughout the corporation.

Jobs in my local area can be created by some surprising developments. Due to the rising cost of food cities around the world are seeing examples of much increased and very successful urban agriculture, and discovering the social, as well as the culinary, benefits of community gardens. This also has the benefit of creating jobs in my local area. City inner suburbs often also have lower than average unemployment. What if this stimulus funded the effort to turn all their gardens green with vegetables!?

Forestry is a big employer providing for jobs in my local area. State Forests of New South Wales will regularly offer, through a competitive process, non-quota speciality sawlogs and craftwood sourced in the woodland regions. This initiative is designed to provide for jobs in my local area and makes more timber products available, particularly to low volume users, for further processing and complements the quota and recovery/salvage wood supply arrangements.

Economic research has established advanced manufacturing, logistics, and life sciences as the leading sectors of long-term job growth in Indianapolis. Recent performance suggests that economic and employment takeoff has not yet occurred in these areas.

State jobs in my local area are those that deal with state government. Every state has its own government and therefore hires its own workers.

Green jobs in my local area help rebuild the middle class by providing a living wage and decent working conditions. They represent a wide diversity of professions and encompass many different skill levels, but are primarily local in nature and, thus, difficult to outsource. Greenspan says that while the current personal cost in lost jobs is "wrenching" there is no credible evidence that trade will impact on employment levels in the US in the long run. He says US policy should not protect jobs in "old-line" industries but focus on retraining displaced workers.

Economists and policy-makers know that the best and most enduring form of assistance developed countries and help establishing more jobs in my local area, and can give to poor nations is not in direct grants but in open markets. The global economy can be the "land flowing with milk and honey" entrusted to us all.

CLASSES

In the first years, chiropractic classes embark on students learning fundamentals of chiropractic; including philosophies of chiropractic and its history. In addition, chiropractic classes will include comprehensive lessons in human anatomy, biochemistry, pharmacology, physiology, biomechanics and pathology. Aside from practical training in chiropractic, students will also delve into neuroscience, behavior science, radiology and clinical studies of the field.

In the latter years of training, students participating in chiropractic classes will learn how to make spinal adjustments through gentle maneuvers. These "adjustments" are based on biomechanical and scientific applications used to correct subluxations. A significant portion of chiropractic classes is dedicated to this hands-on training to give candidates ample experience in the field.

Are Traditional College Classes Better Than Online College Classes?

If you are like most people entering college, you are likely considering taking online college classes. Whether you are a traditional college student who is entering college straight from high school or you are a non-traditional student who has taken a little (or maybe a lot) of time off between high school and college, you want to make sure that you are getting a quality college education. Yet often it is far more convenient to take online college classes than to worry about finding the right course that you need to satisfy your degree requirements around your schedule. It can be a real headache to try to fit in all of the courses you need into a schedule already filled with several other courses that you need to take for the summer as well as a busy personal life that may involve a job and other responsibilities.

sewing classes

This is where the benefits of online college classes come into play. However, many students don't want to forsake the quality of their education for the convenience of taking an course online. So are traditional college classes better than online college classes? The answer is absolutely not. In fact, often times you will have the same professor or instructor teach both the online and traditional courses with the same syllabus, covering all of the same information. Many courses are set up to allow for peer interaction with other online students, and you may even find that you form into online study groups. In this way, you can get the full experience of taking the course, but with the flexibility of taking the course around your schedule.

CLASSES

So if you are debating between taking a traditional course or its online version, there is no need to worry about the quality of education you would be getting if you choose the online course.

A Good Parish Makes a Community

Catholic Parishes add so much to their communities. They are a place for people to bond and communicate with one another. Parishes depend on the service and love of the people in the community, so a parish becomes a source of pride for a town. What is neat is the sense of belonging is so strong in a community parish that members are always looking for ways to help or to improve the parish. Although money must be donated to keep a parish going, it is the donation of time and talent that brings a parish alive.

indianapolis 500 evolution

Many parishioners donate their talent to keep the parish buildings solid. Men and women work to clean the church and perhaps the parish school. People give of their time to cut the grass or shovel the snow. Local builders and carpenters examine the walls of the parish's buildings looking for cracks or holes, and then they happily give up time on a Saturday to use nail hole filler to make things solid again.

INDIANAPOLIS

Teachers who work in Catholic Schools earn less pay then their public school counter-parts. This sacrifice at times is in the tens of thousands of dollars. The amazing thing is many of these same teachers give even more time to their parish to teach something like fimo clay projects to Sunday School students. This additional sacrifice on the part of some Catholic School teachers means more students throughout a community have the opportunity to learn about God from solid Religion Teachers.

A good Catholic Parish is run on a mission and a vision. In some ways a Catholic Parish is like a successful business.

A Good Parish Makes a Community

The American Art Clay Co is a successful business in Indianapolis, Indiana. Their steady growth and service to the art world is how a strong Catholic Parish sees its role in the community it serves. A Catholic Parish moves to work with its community and make the whole area a better place.

AMACO knows the importance of community. That is why when they expanded their facilities they stayed in the same area where they started over eighty-seven years ago. Indiana is lucky to have a solid company like AMACO. In the same way, the communities throughout the United States that are lucky enough to have a Catholic Parish should thank God for them. The American Art Clay Co tries hard to work with parishes to make their community alive with art. Fun fimo clay projects can make a Catholic School or a Sunday School so much better. And, AMACO is even willing to help fill in the holes in the walls with products like their nail hole filler. AMACO knows that a strong Catholic Parish does so much for a community through Faith, Love, and Service, so they are willing to make sure every parish is served with quality.

Cincinnati Bengals Outlook

The Cincinnati Bengals will be playing their 39th season for the team, 41st season if you count the pre-NFL days. Their record in 2007 amounted to a dismal 7-9 win-loss score. The Cincinnati Bengals have never won an NFL Championship, though they did score conference championships in 1981 and 1988. Additionally, the team won division titles for the AFC Central in 1970, 1973, 1981, 1988 and 1990, while winning the AFC division championship in 2005. Victory is not impossible for the Bengals, though it has eluded them for quite a while. What's the blame for the team's losing streak? It could very well be the result of some intense competition, as the Bengals face one of the toughest playing schedules of all NFL teams. In 2008 they will be facing the Baltimore Ravens, the Cleveland Browns, the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Indianapolis Colts, the Kansas City Chiefs, the Philadelphia Eagles, the Dallas Cowboys, the Washington Redskins and last year's Super Bowl winner the New York Giants.

indianapolis

As far as coaching goes, things are remaining status quo, at least when it comes to the direction of head coach Marvin Lewis. This is Lewis' fifth year with the Bengals. Offensive coordinator Bob Bratkowski has also remained with the team. The only factor that Bengals owner Mike Brown determined was that the defense of the team was weak. Therefore, out goes defensive coordinator Chuck Bresnahan who is soon replaced by Mike Zimmer. Linebacker coach Ricky Hunley was also replaced by Jeff FitzGerald. What's interesting about the Bengals is that their coach usually plans a theme about the upcoming season. The 2008 theme for the Cincinnati Bengals is "Now." As in, now it's about time for the Bengals to start winning! The theme idea must be very popular and is apparently Coach Marvin Lewis' saving grace.

INDIANAPOLIS

What about departures that will affect the team in 2008? The team has lost Safety Madieu Williams to the Minnesota Vikings, along with defensive end Justin Smith who found greener pastures with the San Francisco 49ers and linebacker Landon Johnson who signed on with the Carolina Panthers. Additionally, the team lost David Pollack, who has officially retired due to a major injury. The team also lost two players because of off-the-field controversies. Chris Henry was released after news spread about his alleged involvement in an assault case in the city of Cincinnati. Odell Thurman, was also suspended for two consecutive years after violating the NFL's substance abuse policy though he was reinstated this past May.

How about some signings that may bring good news to the Bengals in 2008? The team has acquired the talents of Ben Utecht a tight end with the Indianapolis Colts, Antwan Odom, a defensive end with the Tennessee Titans and Doug Gabriel, a wide receiver with the Oakland Raiders.

What about Chad Johnson? Chad Johnson has enjoyed better stats than a typical wide receiver and is a force to be reckoned with. This may explain why he changed agents and is now represented by Drew Rosenhaus. At the present time it is rumored he may choose to refuse participation in the upcoming training camp with the Bengals or even for the entire upcoming season if he's not traded. Johnson was apparently miffed with some comments made by head coach Marvin Lewis months ago.

What can you say except that the Cincinnati Bengals are facing an uphill battle for the next season?

Stress Management in Law Enforcement

Recently, especially after the 9-11 tragedy, people have begun to look at police officers and law enforcement specialists as strong individuals, rightfully earning the lofty "Finest" title. They are tough, rough, and always ready to protect and serve. Law-abiding civilians feel safer when there are police officers on regular patrol in their neighborhoods and communities, and citizens living in safe localities often carry out useful, happy, stress-free lives.

Yet, in keeping their pillar-of-strength perceptions, police officers tend to keep to themselves when it comes to their own personal trials and tribulations. They regularly deal with the worst of what society has to offer, and they make special sacrifices to maintain the peace. In the process, doing their duty slowly eats away at their own health and satisfaction in life.

CNA CLASSES IN INDIANAPOLIS

To make matters worse, police officers operate on a less social manner than other public safety and emergency service workers. Paramedics and firefighters are trained to work as a group, but they do not pound the streets as police officers do. This results in police officers being spread too thinly to cover their areas of jurisdiction, often having to work alone or with one partner.

A police officer's career is marked by frequent encounters with violence and recklessness. The very ills of society that distress civilians so much also have negative effects on a police officer's psyche. As the stress of police duty builds up, the police officer may soon experience bouts of anger, depression, or disillusion. Over time, these psychological indispositions may cause strained relationships with co-workers, friends, and family, and ultimately lead to resignation, early retirement, or - worst of all - suicide. Yes, it has happened before.

Recent studies about the psychological health of police officers have taken note of these occurrences. Most often these are signs of the progression of a Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). PTSD usually starts with the police officer encountering a particularly disturbing incident during police duty that he can't possibly deal with all at once. PTSD is a severe illness that grows worse with each passing year it is left untreated.

As it goes without saying that police officers have perhaps the most stressful jobs in the civilian world, they also need a measure of stress management to help them cope with the rigors of police duty. Over the years, special stress management programs have been made for police officers and other workers in law enforcement. To varying degrees, these stress management programs differ from those offered for civilians and the wage-earning population.

Stress management in law enforcement includes regular psychological therapy. Police officers may be made to undergo sessions with a therapist. These can coax the police officer to identify any woes he might have with his career and ultimately arrive at beneficial solutions. Therapy sessions aim to educate the police officer in interpreting his/her own reactions to stimuli, resulting in smarter reactions to stress.

Stress management in law enforcement also includes anger management. In anger management, police officers are taught to identify the triggers that causes aggression in them, as well as methods to contain and defuse those triggers. Anger management also teaches police officers how to detect and prevent hostile situations from ever occurring, which in turn can be applied in settling civilian disputes. Perhaps most importantly, anger management develops the police officer's emotional intelligence, allowing them to prevent and manage their stress by themselves, either on or off the clock.

Police officers who have recently gone through a particularly traumatic experience on the job, such as the death of a partner or a horribly gruesome crime scene, can be made to undergo psychotherapy. This allows them to cope with the debilitating stress that these encounters saturate them with.

Today, police precincts make it a point to have a number of full-time counselors as part of the roster. With the help of chaplains and other support workers, the presence of these counselors keeps the tension down in the work environment, allowing police officers and other workers in law enforcement to work as smoothly and normally as possible.

Being aware of the stresses that police officers and other law enforcement specialists undergo on a regular basis really puts things in perspective for the rest of us, doesn't it? Too often, being so caught up in our own petty stresses can make us forget that there are brave men and women out there who make our safety and happiness their concern. The mere knowledge of the sacrifices they make for us should be enough to let us sit back, laugh at ourselves, and be grateful for having stresses as trivial as they can possibly be.

Nipple Deformities - Simple Plastic Surgery Corrections

Nipples are as variable as the size and shape of breasts. No two nipples are ever exactly alike, usually not even on the same person. While much breast reshaping (breast augmentation, breast reduction, breast lift) goes on in plastic surgery, many men and women suffer from nipple deformities as well which also affects their self-esteem. Nipples can stick out too much, can be turned in, or the areola (the colored area surrounding the nipple) can be too large. Some of these nipple problems may affect certain breast functions such as feeling or lactation. The good news is that there are some very simple plastic surgery procedures that are quite effective at improving these problems.

indianapolis motor speedway

For the sake of clarification, what most call the nipple is actually two different structures. The true nipple is the central projecting skin area that has both enhanced sensation and milk ducts for lactation. The flatter, almost always more pigmented, skin around the true nipple is called the areola.

INDIANAPOLIS

Nipple inversion (shy nipple) affects about 2% of the population, more commonly in women than men. Some nipples can be turned in slightly or to a significant degree. Some people are born with nipple inversion, others occur later often after breastfeeding. In rare instances, a tumor may be pulling the nipple inward and this should be ruled out particularly if it occurs later in life and just on one breast. Correction involves a simple procedure done under local anesthesia. The nipple is released and brought out. The biggest problem with nipple inversion correction is relapse, the nipple losing projection and returning to an inward position. Nipple inversion surgery can also be done at the time of other breast surgery. I usually like to delay repair in the case of breast augmentation until later as the implant may help to push out some nipples, making correction unnecessary.

Enlarged nipples often create visible 'headlights' which can be a source of embarrassment for many women. This can also be an issue for some men. An overly projecting nipple can be easily reduced through a wedge excision or a 'ring' reduction approach. Sensation and the ability for milk production can be preserved with either technique. Done under local anesthesia, nipple reductions are very stable and are not associated with any significant relapse.

"Puffy" nipples can occur in women and are usually associated with the tubular breast deformity. In this nipple problem, the areola and the nipple are pushed outward due to an underlying herniation or protrusion of breast tissue. Correction of this problem is slightly more complex than isolated nipple surgery. It is usually treated as part of tubular breast surgery which involves the use of a breast implant and areolar manipulation. This is treated by making an incision around the areola, removing some of the pigmented skin (if needed), and lifting the areola skin up and decreasing the projection (puffiness). This is a more extensive surgery and requires an operative room experience under anesthesia.

Large or wide areolas are extremely common in big breasts. Usually the size of the areola is related to the size of the breast, but not always. Large areolas are commonly reduced as part of breast reduction surgery. They can be reduced independent of a breast reduction through the periareolar approach. By removing a ring of the outer areola, the circular diameter of the areola is narrowed. Due the tightness of breast skin, there is a limit as to how much the areola can be reduced. This procedure results in a scar at the junction of the areola and skin which occasionally widens and requires secondary revisional surgery.

The Three Basic Asset Classes Explained

When it comes to investing, understanding the basic asset classes and the sub-classes within each is mandatory. It not only helps when it comes to portfolio construction but in knowing where to invest. So, without further delay, let's examine the three basic asset classes:

sewing classes

1. Cash and cash equivalents. In this asset class, investors will hold actual cash or short-term, liquid securities such as 30-day treasuries. While interest is often paid on assets invested in this class, the investment objective is simply to have access to money when it is needed.

CLASSES

2. Income. In the income asset class, investors are seeking "income" in terms of interest and dividends as a primary investment objective. Since income can be derived from different sources, there are many different sub-classes to this asset class including:

a) Government. In this sub-class, investors will seek returns from government bonds exclusively. There are many different types of government bonds, including Federal, State and Municipal.

b) Term deposits. Here, investors are guaranteed a rate as well as their principal. This sub-class can be further classified into long-, mid- and short-term.

b) Corporate/High Yield. Here, investors will look at high yield investments as the source of income. Typically, the riskier the bond, the higher the rate. This sub-class can be further classified into additional categories including investment-grade and junk bonds among others.

c) Preferred Shares. With preferred shares, the investors received dividend income.

3. Growth. In the growth asset class, investors are normally investing in stocks or other speculative investments. The key with the growth class is that investors want to see their investment grow (e.g. a ,000 investment will grow to ,000) regardless of whether such investments pay any type of income (such as dividends). The growth class has many different sub-categories including:

a) Large, Mid and Small Cap. Growth investments can be categorized by the market capitalization of the securities in that class.

b) Dividend-Paying. In this class, the growth-oriented securities will pay dividends. Although the dividends provide income, it may not be steady and the primary objective, even with dividend-paying investments, is to realize growth.

c) Growth or Value. Securities can designated as either growth or value. A growth security is one that is expected to enjoy steady growth as predicated by historical trends; a value security is one that is perceived to be "cheap" or undervalued. These sub-asset classes are not one and the same and it can often be debated as to which camp (growth or value) a specific equity belongs.

d) Geographic. The growth asset class can be sub-categorized by the area in which the securities operate or are based. For example, domestic growth refers to US-based equities whereas Latin American growth will refer to securities that have business operations or are based out of Latin America.

e) Sector specific. These asset classes can be specific to a given industry, such as real estate, resources, energy, manufacturing and so on.

When it comes to the growth asset class, the securities can fit many different sub-classes as well. For example, you can have a large-cap, domestic, dividend-paying, manufacturing-based equity. Again, this list is not intended to be exhaustive. It provides a very broad overview of the different asset classes in which investors can dabble.

Sunday School Lessons for Kids - Ideas for Sunday Morning Classes

When you are planning Sunday school lessons for kids, it is important to come up with lessons where all of the children can be involved in the sermon. Kids of all ages are influenced by many outside influences today, and Sunday morning classes gives us an opportunity to share the love of Jesus in the room. There are some weeks when it may be difficult to know what to teach the kids, but there are many resources you can use when you are planning your next Sunday school lesson.

zumba classes

If you are at a loss as to what to teach in your class, start by checking with the church office. If you attend an established church, the church may already have many resources you can use in your classes on Sunday morning. Ask the pastor or the church staff for ideas of resources you can use in your class, or talk to some of the teachers to see what they are teaching in class.

CLASSES

If your pastor is going through a specific sermon series during church services, this gives you many ideas of topics you can teach in your class. Many kids (and adults too) don't pay attention to the sermon, so Sunday school lessons for kids is a great opportunity to reinforce the message of the pastor. Take notes on the sermons the pastor preaches, and then use these notes to come up with lessons for your next class.

There are other ways to come up with ideas for your classes. There are many games you can play in class that will help the children learn the Word of God. You can play trivia games on Sunday morning where the kids have to answer questions about previous lessons in your teaching series. The child that gets the most answers right wins a prize. Anything you can do to make class more fun and memorable for the students is important for the spiritual development of the children.

One of the best ways to encourage creativity in your class today is through the use of multimedia. With the increase in television and internet usage, many people pay more attention to videos than they will to someone giving a lecture. There are many professional movie clips for kids that are being developed by Christian ministries to help teach kids the most important stories in the word.

Churches should be willing to invest a lot of resources into their Sunday school lessons for kids. Our children are the next generation of Christians that will witness to a lost and hurting world!

Voluntary types of coverage available in Indianapolis include medical payments, collision, comprehensive, towing and car rental. Though collision coverage is not required legally by the state of Indiana, it is often required by the lender if you still owe a balance on your automobile loan.

Though Indiana's Department of Insurance does not "fix" rates, it does require every auto insurance provider to file the rates and forms with the Department before implementing them. The Department examines each company's intentions to ensure consumers are getting car insurance at a fair price. The Department also requires that rates be open for public inspection. This benefits you because you can compare rates from numerous providers in Indianapolis without making a commitment to purchase.

Determining Rates

Indianapolis providers use a number of factors when determining your car insurance premium. These include (but are not limited to) gender and age, marital status, type of automobile, place of residence, financial credit scores, daily commute distance, driving record, driver training (if you have completed a driver's course), history of automobile claims, and the deductible and type of coverage chosen.

Insurance companies combine these factors with general statistics, a process that helps the provider come to reasonable conclusions about the amount of risk each driver poses. Indianapolis statistics about drivers, cars and highways are readily available so you can see how your area fares in the eyes of insurers. For example, the average daily commute in Indianapolis is 22.7 minutes. The city reported 70 fatal automobile crashes in 2007, which involved 174 people and 114 automobiles. Indianapolis had an estimated 7,680 car thefts that same year. You can research statistics such as these and find lists of the most stolen cars in Indianapolis as well as the safest cars to drive.

As you research auto insurance companies in Indianapolis, be sure to compare the rates based on the following criteria:

*Does the policy provide adequate coverage?

*Can you lower your premium by raising your deductible?

*Does the company offer discounts for student drivers (good grades and training), a good driving history, safety features on your vehicle, etc.?

*Can you depend on the company when you need to file a claim?

*How is the company rated financially? (Use A. M. Best Rating Service and others to find out.)

*Will insuring your vehicle and home with the same company save you money?

*Can you lower your premium by implementing anti-theft devices or by parking your car in a locked garage versus on the street?

Ask these questions about each provider so you can make an informed decision. Lower price is not always best if it means sacrificing the quality of service you receive. Indiana's average car insurance premium is ,715 per year (as of 2009). This is right in tune with the national average of ,735. But with online auto insurance comparisons, you might be able to get even better rates. Use these guidelines to start your search for affordable car insurance in Indianapolis today.

Heel Pain in Children

Heel pain is not uncommon in children, and can make sports and other activities difficult to participate in. The cause of most heel pain in children differs somewhat from heel pain in adults, and is therefore treated a little differently. This article discusses the nature of heel pain in children, and how it can be relieved.

Heel pain is common across all age groups and activity levels. In adults, this pain is usually caused by inflammation of a ligament on the bottom of the arch called the plantar fascia. Commonly referred to as a heel spur since a bone spur sometimes accompanies this condition (although the spur itself is not the source of pain), this painful injury is usually caused by abnormal foot structure straining the arch tissue. It is commonly found in those with flat feet, high arches, or those who work on ladders or stairs frequently. Treatment involves reducing the inflammation with medicine, stretching the arch, and supporting the foot structure with shoe inserts. Some children can also get this condition, particularly if they are flat footed or are obese. However, the majority of the time, heel pain in children is caused by a natural process that affects the growth plate in the heel bone (calcaneus).

CNA CLASSES IN INDIANAPOLIS

As humans grow, the bones become longer and wider. Although some foot bones initially develop from cartilage molds before birth, the majority the foot bone size develops from growth plates found within each bone. These growth plates are soft areas found at one end of the bone or the other, and are set up to produce bone like a factory, constantly pushing bone out in a direction away from the growth plate. This effectively lengthens and widens the bone. Eventually, in the late teen years, this growth stops and the growth plates themselves fuse into bone. In the heel bone, the growth plate is located along the bottom back of the bone, where the heel bone is rounded to form the 'ball' of the heel. Sometime in late childhood to the early teen years, inflammation and swelling can begin to develop in the growth plate region. Not every child experiences this condition, also known as Sever's disease. It can develop on its own without injury or overactivity, although chronic repetitive stress can have a role. Girls seem to develop it earlier, presumably because of earlier growth activity. There is no inherent problem with the growth plate during this process, and growth continues uninterrupted. The inflammation continues until it runs its course, although continued athletic activity during this time prolongs the inflammation. From a physiological perspective, the inflammation can technically continue until the growth plate fuses into bone in the late teen years, although it is uncommon for this condition to last so long. However, most kids suffer through the discomfort for several months at least.

The symptoms of this condition are fairly specific. The pain begins with walking, running, or standing for awhile. It is located along the bottom back part of the heel, and may include some pain traveling up the Achilles tendon. Arch pain can sometimes be felt, but this has more to do with irritation of the arch due to limping from the heel pain than from the growth plate pain itself. Skin swelling, warmth, redness, or other external signs of this inflammation are rarely seen. The child with this condition will have difficulty participating in sports or other activity due to the pain, but usually will persist with that activity since the pain is rarely severe enough to outright prevent them from staying active. Unfortunately, this will only prolong the condition. The Achilles tendon also plays a role in this condition. Since the Achilles tendon attaches to the heel bone along the near side of the growth plate, any tightness in this tendon can exert excessive pressure on the growth plate. The pressure, which essentially is extra traction on the back of the growth plate, causes further inflammation and irritation. On rare instances, the growth plate itself may not be inflamed from a natural process but rather from an injury that has caused a fracture. Growth plate fractures in the heel bone are rare, but do occur. Causes can include a fall from a moderate height as well as a hard kick backwards onto a firm object.

Treatment centers around supporting the inflamed growth plate and allowing it to settle down on it's own. Rest from running and other impact activities is vital, and may be necessary for weeks to months. Icing the heel several times a day helps, as do over-the-counter children's medications like ibuprofen. Heel stretching will relieve any traction the Achilles tendon will place on the heel bone itself, and the use of inserts with a deep heel cup can control heel pressure and side to side motion in shoes. Unfortunately, it is this author's experience to see many kids with this condition who participate in year round sports, and who will not reduce their activity to allow this condition to resolve. Sometimes it is because the parents are not forceful enough in enforcing the rest period in kids that don't want to stop activity, and sometimes it is the parent's refusal to keep their kids out of sports temporarily out of some misguided need to keep their kids 'fresh in the game'. Regardless, the reality of the situation is simple: most children are not world-class athletes whose fame and fortune rests on continuing in the sport, and they certainly don't have professional athletic trainers and therapists at their disposal each game dedicated to getting them through the pain. Taking a few months off is not going to adversely effect their future. Parents and children need to take a step back and realize that this condition needs to be rested, as it can potentially linger into the late teen years where the potential to participate in collegiate athletics can definitely be effected.

It should be noted as well that this condition can potentially return after it resolves if the growth plate has not yet fused. Although less common, repeated bouts of the inflammation are possible, especially in very active children.

Although this condition is generally treated easily at home, and although growth plate inflammation is usually at fault to begin with, there is a possibility that the heel pain can be due to a another reason. As mentioned earlier, fractures do occur, though rare, and other injuries around the heel region can mimic this growth plate inflammation. At times, heel pain can have complicated causes, some of which can include nerve damage or may indicate diseases elsewhere in the body. A proper evaluation by a foot specialist can determine the true cause of the condition, and will ensure the best treatment course possible for the underlying cause. Even if a parent simply concludes that their child's heel pain is due to the growth plate based on this and other internet articles, a foot evaluation by a podiatrist is recommended to be absolutely certain. With proper care, growth plate inflammation can be easily resolved, and, if there are other conditions present, long term problems can be avoided if early medical intervention is given.

Nisha Millet's Tips on Swimming - Bangalore Swimming Classes

For most parents, swimming is a top favorite as an extra-curricular activity for kids. Not only does it result in a good build and growth for most children, it's also a great life skill to know and a sport with minimum chances of injury. In Bangalore, there are several good coaches who organize swimming lessons for children. However, parents are often in a dilemma about when to start swimming classes for their kids and how often. MetroMela spoke to swimming champion Nisha Millet, the first Indian swimmer to qualify for the Olympics in 200 meters freestyle and an Arjuna Award winner. Millet organizes coaching camps for children and adults throughout the year and loves to make swimming a fun exercise for kids.

Getting your kids to swim...

CLASSES

* Five is the perfect age to start swimming lessons for your child. It's difficult for kids below that age to figure out underwater breathing techniques and follow instructions.

* If you have kids below the age of five who love water, take them to a baby pool and let them splash around to their heart's content. You can teach them to do fun things like blowing bubbles. Millet advises not to try to submerge their heads under water when they are young.

* Never force your child to learn swimming. They should enjoy what they are doing.

* One hour in the pool a day is a good enough exercise.

* Swimming is a sport that burns calories, so do not stop your child from eating unless he or she is obese. Once the kid is above 10 years, then there can be a focus on the right diet.

* For kids above 10 years, exercises like jogging and light weights are recommended.

* Let swimming be a fun exercise for your child. If they are happy to enjoy it as a sport but not keen on competition, do not force them. On the other hand, if the child has potential and both the parent and child are willing to train for competitions, be prepared as it's tough balancing studies and training.

* There's no need to stop swimming lessons for your child through their exams. Swimming for even half an hour can act as a great stress reliever. "I always swam through all my exams," says Millet.

* Joining a swimming class is a good way to calm down a hyperactive child.

* Before you put your child in a swimming camp, make sure the water is treated, is clean and there are lifeguards around. Most classes allow parents to sit and observe.

Where to learn...

Nisha Millet's Swimming Academy

The academy is currently holding camps in Catholic Club, Karnataka Golf Association (KGA) and Bowring Club. Swim camps are held throughout the year at these clubs and are open to members and non-members alike. There are camps for beginners (kids and adults) and advanced kids. Fees vary from club to club. For instance, one month advanced camp for kids costs Rs. 3,000 at Catholic Club. Classes are held Monday to Friday and before joining, Millet checks out the kid's swimming abilities. To make it a fun exercise for kids, Nisha does relay races and fun competitions. If she spots talent, she refers them to Basavanagudi Aquatic Centre for further coaching.

Swimlife

What Is A Kids Dance Class?

CLASSES

Kids dance classes are a good way for your child to have fun and exercise. It is beneficial for health and at the same time, your child will learn basic behaviour disciplines. Kid dance lessons are offered in a wide selection of dance schools and studios in most local areas. For most children, they dance simply for fun and exercise. These dance courses have a mixture of classes that are suitable for kids like Classical ballet, Salsa, Hip hop, Jazz dance, Interpretative dance and more.

What You Should Know Before Enrolling Your Child?

If you are a concerned parent who is planning to enroll your child in a dance class, there are several things you should know.

First, you should go and check the dance studio for safety and security. If the dance studio puts a limitation on the size of the class it means, the smaller the class size, the faster the learning is and more fun! Some dance classes that are less costly often have too many students in the classroom. The dance class size for children 3 to 9 years old should be limited only to between 8 to 10 young students.

The dance staff should always be available to answer the phone or will call you if emergency occurs. The dance class is also ideal fit has an up to date and informative website that shows information you need to know such as class schedules, recital dates, announcements and etc.

In addition, also check the type of flooring used. Tile or concrete is not a good dance floor for a dance studio. Look for a suspended or cushioned dance floor.

What Are The Benefits Of A Kids Dance Class?

There are many benefits of dancing to your child, including fitness, developing balance, weight loss exercise, developing self confidence, and building expressive skills.

Dancing is the best way to get kids more active. Provided they are taught by good dance instructors who manage to make the class enjoyable, rather than pure lessons and demonstration. In addition, it improves your child's social skills. Most dance classes tend to be conducted in a group; your child can interact with other students in a spirit of camaraderie. What's more, all of these have the positive benefits of making the person more successful in the social aspect of life.

Dancing is one of the many activities that help us to feel good about our body. As a result, dancing can also boost your kid's self esteem. As we have known, people who dance well (especially people who took up dance classes in their childhood), tend to have good self esteem. Kids need physical activity and dancing helps to cause the release of "happy hormones" or the endorphins. Happiness and success levels tend to be at their best when your child is experiencing a flow of these "happy hormones" which can help with your child's everyday well being.

Dermatology Treatments For Acne

Acne is one of the most common reasons teens and young adults turn to the help of a dermatologist. If you are considering dermatology to treat your acne, here are some of the treatments your doctor may recommend.

indianapolis motor speedway

One of the first things your doctor will likely do is discuss your skin hygiene with you. Contrary to popular belief, poor skin hygiene does not cause acne. Oily skin is not what causes acne, and often overly cleansing the skin and scrubbing it with exfoliants and other products can actually make the acne problem worse. In dermatology, most doctors recommend cleaning with a non-detergent cleansing bar when your face is dirty, and nothing more. Your doctor will also advise you not to pick or squeeze your pimples or nodules.

INDIANAPOLIS

Your doctor may also instruct you to make some minor dietary changes. You cannot "diet" away your acne, but chocolate, nuts, and colas can make your acne worse. If you commonly consume many of these foods, your doctor may advise you to limit them to help your acne heal.

One of the ways dermatology treats acne is through topical medications. You can get these over the counter or through a prescription. The over the counter options dry up pimples and kill bacteria, while the prescription options promote cell turnover to prevent the hair follicles from plugging, all while killing bacteria. If you have sensitive skin, these may irritate your skin, so talk to your dermatologist about ways to use them without creating irritation.

Sometimes a short course of antibiotics can clear up an acne breakup. Remember, the inflammation is caused by bacteria getting trapped in the skin. Oral antibiotics can help kill that bacteria. However, because antibiotics have long been used in dermatology to treat acne, the bacteria are becoming more and more resistant. This means that some cases of acne will not respond to antibiotics. For this reason, your doctor will not prescribe them for the long term.

For severe cases of acne, your dermatologist might prescribe isotretinoin. This prescription medication is quite effective at drying up acne by actually shrinking the oil glands. However, it can cause severe side effects, particularly in unborn babies if a woman gets pregnant while taking the medication. Your doctor will only prescribe this if you are being closely monitored while you take it.

Once your acne has healed, there are other cosmetic treatments you can use to clear up the scars and remnants of your acne. When it comes to treating this embarrassing condition, dermatology is your best choice.

Green Dental Office Design - Improving the Lighting

One of the biggest areas of concern in dental office design is making sure that there is proper lighting, especially in the operatories. Traditionally, fluorescent ceiling lighting has been used to provide general purpose lighting. One of the challenges, however, is to do so with color correcting lamps (bulbs) so that the lighting does not affect the color of the patient's teeth and the best possible color matches can be obtained.

indianapolis

If the dental office was not built with a dental office designer involved that watched for this, often times low-cost general purpose fluorescent fixtures and standard lamps were installed and the dentist and hygienist have had to deal with the poor illumination and quality that they produce.

INDIANAPOLIS

Today, as we move toward higher efficiency and green dental office design, there are better options. Moving to T5 lamp fluorescent fixtures can improve the energy by as much as 28%. For example, a 35W T5 lamp puts out 3650 lumens with an efficacy of 104 lumens per watt. This compares to a 40W T12 lamp at only 3,050 lumens and an efficacy of 81 lumens per watt, or a 32W T8 at only 2,700 lumens and an efficacy of 89 lumens per watt. (source: 1)

If your dental office design makes use of can lighting rather than tube, replacing the lamps with compact fluorescents (CFL) or LED's is a great way to reduce your energy usage and "green" your office. LED's generally score 92 on the Color Rendering Index as compared to 80 to 85 for other light sources, giving a "truer" white light. The sun is measured at 100 CRI. As far as efficacy goes LED's can generate as many lumens at 15W as a fluorescent produces at 35W. That's over a 50% reduction in energy usage. (source: 2)

Another green design advantage LED's have over incandescent and fluorescent lighting is that they contain no hazardous chemicals. Most fluorescent and CFL's contain mercury, lead, sodium, or other hazardous materials that can end up in land-fills and leach into the water supply.

Lastly, in addition to reduced energy usage LED's last a long time. Since they don't really burn out, their life is measured in lumen depreciation, and most LED's can last 50,000 hours or more before their lumen output depreciates to 70% of its original output. This is the point at which the Illuminating Engineering Society says they should be replaced.

So, if you are planning a dental office remodel or a design for your new dental office, be sure to ask your dental office designer to make use of higher efficiency, greener lighting in the design. If your not currently doing a remodel but are looking for ways to green your office and reduce your energy usage, converting your lamps or fixture to T5 fluorescents or LED's is a great place to start!

The Indianapolis 500 Festival Parade Tips

The 500 Festival Parade

indianapolis 500 hats

Held on the Saturday immediately prior to the 500 Mile Race, electrifies the streets of downtown Indianapolis as the stars of Indy join with other celebrities from around the country and around the world to celebrate the worlds greatest spectacle in racing. This parade has been an annual event in Indianapolis since 1957.

INDIANAPOLIS

The 500 Festival Parade features balloons of famous cartoon characters, marching bands, dance troupes, themed floats, 33 Indy 500 festival princesses, popular celebrities, and the fearless young racers, of course. Watch for your favorite movie star or music artist. See and be seen. On the Saturday before the worlds most famous auto race, this is the place to be. The event will also be televised on Indianapolis WISH TV-8.

The atmosphere is family friendly by design. The organizers of the parade are always sure to provide entertainment the whole family can enjoy, especially the younger fans. The parade starts at noon, but be sure to get there early as this event is expected to draw more than 300,000 fans and if you haven't purchased a reserved seat, the free curbside viewing venues are finders keepers.

Former Grand Marshals include Jimmy Stewart, President, Walter Cronkite, Gerald Ford, Vice President Dan Quayle, Mickey and Minnie Mouse. The Grand Marshal for the 2010 parade is expected to be announced on or about May 1, 2010.

The parade route begins at the intersection of Pennsylvania and North streets, runs south to Washington Street, turns right (West) on Washington Street for one block to Meridian Street, turns right (North) and continues to 11th street where the parade route ends. Streets will be closed the morning of the parade from Illinois on the West to Delaware on the East, and from 16th Street on the North to Washington Street on the South. The streets begin closing at 6:00 A.M., so plan your route carefully to avoid these areas. Bleachers and reserved seating are available and secured by the purchase of a ticket. Tickets for adults can be purchased for .00 for reserved chairs or .50 for reserved bleacher seats. Special accommodations for wheel chairs can be provided, if arranged at the time you order your tickets.

Tips that you may fine helpful:

1. Purchase tickets for the parade in advance. Unlike most parades, the Indy 500 Festival Parade requires tickets. These are easily available through many online ticket outlets and this event regularly sells out.

2. Make travel plans to get to Indianapolis. If you are lucky enough to live within driving distance of the city, it will be easier for you. If you have to fly, make your reservations as early as possible, as this is the busiest weekend for Indy and most flights sell out. If you can't get a flight, check flights to nearby airports like Louisville and Chicago.

3. Secure a hotel room early. Just like the flights, hotels in the Indianapolis area will be just as scarce. The closer to the track you try to find a room, the harder it will be. Be prepared to drive a little bit to get to the festival.

4. Be sure to arrive early on parade day. Round up your family early and scout out a front row seat to watch the festivities. It is recommended that you arrive several hours before the start of the parade. Which brings us to...

5. Bring lawn chairs and some snacks. Don't forget water. Indianapolis usually has great weather this time of year and the time before the parade offers fantastic people watching. Once you have a spot, make yourself comfortable and wait for the action.

Week 9 - Indianapolis Colts and the Philadephia Eagles and Mini Reviews of the Rest

Michael Vic played liked his did before he injured his ribs. He was awesome. This was probably his best performance because it came against one of the fastest defense lines and linebackers in the league. Although the Colts do play faster on their faux turf at home. They are still plenty fast on grass. Vic made them look slow at times. Vic spun out of several sack situations for most mortals and his forty yard run reminded people he can still be the human joy stick when he has too. Vic also showed arm strength with his a flick or his wrist and touch. His fifty yard laser strike to DeSean Jackson from his own end zone with a thing of beauty. He couldn't have handed it to him better than that. Vic also did not turn the ball over which is huge against a team that creates turnovers by nature. Vic would be the NFL's most valuable player halfway through the season, even with the missed games.

indianapolis motor speedway

Vic's effort alone was not the reason the Eagles won. Their much maligned defense pressured Manning sacking him three times, which is rare. They forced two interceptions which also is rare. They even confused him with changing their blitz look and making him audible into running plays that was stuffed. That never happens. Their defense gave up yards but tackled well and limited the run after catch yards. They even overcame a couple of suspect penalties. The shoulder hit that safety Kurt Coleman made on Colt receiver Austin Collie which knocked Collie out was about as textbook as you can get, yet was ruled a personal foul. It should have been a no call and actually a fumble. Coleman should appeal the upcoming fine. Also Trent Coles hit on Manning on 4th and eighteen. I know that you can't hit the quarterback in head, especially Payton Manning, but Cole was going for the ball, missed and glazed Manning's head. Manning was about to go down anyway and the game would have been over at that point. The Eagle defense hasn't played this well since Jim Johnson was their defensive coordinator.

INDIANAPOLIS

Oakland over Kansas City. Jason Campbell was fantastic in the fourth quarter after being held in the check for most of the game. Before this year that would have been an automatic loss for the Raiders, but Campbell came through. His biggest and best pass was the fourth down throw to Jacoby Ford who made a better catch by basically taking the ball from the Chief defensive back. Ford's kickoff return for a touchdown to start the second half ignited the Raiders and the Raider crowd got them back into the game. Ford has defiantly earned more playing time. The Chiefs played well for most the game, but could not apply the knockout blow. They are very young and will learn from this loss. The rematch in Kansas City will tell who wins the division.

New York Jets edging Detroit. Nick Folk game tying and game winning kicks were clutch but Mark Sanchez willed the Jets to victory. Another tough loss for the Lions who play hard each week but can't seem to close. They are an amazing 7-1 versus the point spread.

San Diego edging Houston. Phillip Rivers has to be the most underrated quarterback in the league. He won without all his top receivers. The Chargers are making their midseason push again. The Texans are cursed to be 8-8 again.

Baltimore defeating Miami. The Ravens style is too just slowly grind teams in submission. The Dolphins were unbeaten on the road until this game. They should have stayed at the Holiday Inn again.

Chicago beats Buffalo. Jay Cutler was only sacked one time in the win and threw two touchdown passes. He must have had flashbacks of being in Denver. Buffalo loses another close game. It may be time for the team to meet with Dr. Phil.

Cleveland running all over New England. Peyton Hillis runs like a bull with nifty moves. He and Colt McCoy have made the Browns future look bright. New England's defense played as soft as marshmallows. The post game hand shake between Belichick and Mangini was about as cold as a handshake between German and Russian generals during the battle of Stalingrad.

Atlanta edges Tampa Bay. The Falcons win with a goal line stand the end of the game. Tampa Bay is petitioning the NFL to be placed in the NFC west so they make the playoffs.

Minnesota edges Arizona. Brett Farve saves the Vikings season and Coach Childress job with another Brett Farve in his prime performance. Childress should stay away humor in his post game press conference. He was begging for even a courtesy laugh. Arizona needs Donovan McNabb and forty-five hugs.

New Orleans whips Carolina. The Saints have discovered it's good to have a scrimmage in the middle of the season. The Panthers are wishing Dallas was on their schedule so they can win another game.

New York Giants slapping Seattle. The Giants were dominating in every phase of the game. The best pass thrown by Seattle was the fan who threw the beer at Steve Smith after a touchdown.

Green Bay routing Dallas. The Packers did whatever they wanted against the Cowboys because the Cowboys quit at the coin flip again. Now Cowboy fans can focus on the East Dillion Lions who have a good chance to win state and Head Coach Eric Taylor whose contract expires at the end of the year.

Introduction To Business Classes Lay The Groundwork For Understanding

Students in a business program will first have to complete a course in Business 101 so they can get a survey of what to expect for the rest of their college curriculum if they choose to continue in this program. This course will give students the opportunity to evaluate if this is the field for them to pursue. Business 101 will offer a wealth of information, so students should be prepared to take in as much as they can in order to prepare for their futures.

zumba classes

This course begins with an explanation of how business is organized, as well as how they are managed and evaluated. The different business structures will also be covered in this course. These consist of economics, marketing, accounting, finance, human relations, management and information systems and a few others.

CLASSES

Most people are familiar with marketing because it is in our faces daily, whether we're walking down the street, surfing the Internet or watching a movie. We might not always be aware of these marketing techniques though. In a business course, students will be exposed to the four P's of marketing: product, price, place and promotion, all integral elements of an effective marketing strategy. Economics will also be discussed and the topics addressed in this subject include supply and demand, goods and services and the importance of trade.

Accounting and finance are two other essential fields discussed in an introductory business course. Finance will discuss the concept of the time value of money, which is the foundation for the finance industry, as well as the various financial institutions present today. Accounting is another major business industry that will teach students about the accounting equation and the 'four financial statements' used by most business associations.

Human Resources and Management will also be addressed in 101 business course. Students will learn the skills necessary to become effective leaders and communicators - basically the essentials of being a manager. Human resource topics will include the processes of hiring, job planning and compensation, as well as the logistics of discrimination and how to comply with equal opportunity laws.

With the advent of technology, globalization and other information systems have multiplied at rapid rates. An Introduction to Business course will analyze and evaluate how these elements influence and spur on the business climate, both negatively and positively.

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to read the Wall Street Journal or listen to business with relative understanding for what is being discussed. It is an exciting feeling to utilize the lessons you learn in school in the real world. By the end of this course, students will have an understanding of their aptitudes and weaknesses and this will help them determine what area of interest they would like to pursue as a career.

Introduction To Business Classes Lay The Groundwork For Understanding

Students in business classes will receive many immediate benefits from their introductory course, such as crystallizing their career goals and developing a greater awareness of the industry. Take the time to absorb and then apply your new skills to a traditional or online college course program for your degree.

Plastic Surgery Techniques For Reshaping the Round Face

Not infrequently I get requests from patients for the desire to transform a round face into a more shapely appearance. One cause of a round face is that the patient is overweight. A full neck, round cheeks, and a lot of subcutaneous fat throughout the face creates a generalized fullness that creates a fat and round face. These patients know full well that they are overweight and some liposuction of the neck and buccal lipectomies may make some difference. But weight loss will probably make the most difference in these cases. And these procedures should not be performed until some weight loss has been achieved.

indianapolis 500 evolution

But the overweight patient is not what usually makes up the 'round face' patient. Most commonly these are younger patients that are not significantly overweight and are usually closer to being more height and weight porportionate. They may have some mild fullness in the cheeks and neck but often their bony prominences (cheeks, chin, or jaw angles) may be somewhat deficient. The approach to these patients must deal with both hard and soft tissues issues to be effective at improving the face's angularity and definition.

INDIANAPOLIS

In addition to the fullness of the cheeks and neck, the next most important consideration in facial shape improvement should look at the chin. Often it may only be midly short in the horizontal dimension but the width of the chin is also important, particularly in the male patient. Chin implants today can provide more projection as well as width in many different sizes. Placed through a small incision under the chin bone, a chin implant can lend more definition and squareness to the lower face from subtle to dramatic results.

Upper facial fullness, more specifically midfacial fullness, can be achieved through cheek implants. Placed into position by incisions inside the mouth under the upper lip, cheek implants can provide good highlights through three-dimensional enhancement of the bone as it wraps around the area below the eye. An amazing aray of cheek and midface implants is available to provide a lot of enhancements around this important facial landmark. When paired cheek implants are combined with a chin implant, an upside down triangle of change is created that directly opposes a more round or oval facial shape.

Jaw angle implants are always a possibility but these are rarely needed in most really round faces. They can produce some lateral facial fullness but this is not usually helpful in 'de-rounding' the face in most patients.

The procedures of buccal lipectomies, neck and jowl liposuction, chin and cheel implants make up the usual plastic surgery tools for facial rehaping. Which one or a combination of procedures is most helpful for improving facial definition is best determined by careful computer imaging study during the consultation with your plastic surgeon.

Stop High School Drop Out Rate By Addressing the Real Problems Instead of Traditional Symptoms

High school drop out rates are being released nationwide according to a new formula mandated by the No Child Left Behind (NCLB) education law. These rates may cause both taxpayers and parents to once again scratch their heads and ask the simple question: What is the cause to drop high school given all the billions of dollars that are continually poured into these public schools to ensure acceptable high school graduation rates?

In Indiana, for example, data now suggests that 1 out of 4 students on a statewide average drops out of high school. Within the next couple of months, every individual school district within the United States will release their own high school graduation rates.

CNA CLASSES IN INDIANAPOLIS

The NCLB calculation is lot more about common sense than many educators wish to admit to parents and taxpayers. Instead of figuring graduation rates from the beginning of the senior year to the end of the senior year, schools are being forced to report graduation rates based on those who entered as freshman and those who graduated as seniors. Recently, I have informally surveyed over 100 parents and 99 of them thought that this was how graduation rates were actually calculated. Given that schools receive on an average of ,000 per year from taxpayers' dollars for each student in the public school system for each year by not including those who left school before graduation skews both the effectiveness and efficiency of public education. Maybe that is why some superintendents feel that their response to this common sense approach is moral outrage about policing students instead of addressing the real reasons that schools are failing to graduate students.

If we take a results approach perspective of this data, we can honestly say that the public education system is producing one defective product out of four. With baby boomers retiring during the next decade, the U.S. economy will be facing critical shortages in finding qualified and educated workers. Unless, public education makes significant changes in how they educate young people, the U.S. is in meltdown and will lose its number one place in the world economy.

Not only will these drop out rates negatively affect the growing of the economy of each community, state and our nation, these undereducated young people will add costs to each state's bottom line. The Friedman Foundation based in Indianapolis estimated that the dropouts for 2006 will cost the state of Indiana over million each year until these students die. Given that life rates are increasing, Indiana taxpayers can expect at least 20 to 30 years or billions of wasted dollars being spent on these young people These costs are calculated from lost tax revenue, social health care such as Medicaid and incarceration.

Educational research suggests that most young people make the decision to drop out in middle school or junior high. Early kindergarten is not the answer as no matter how much education is available prior to these early adolescent years. Unless the young people are actively engaged in their learning, we will continue to see these unacceptable drop out rates.

The Gates Foundation in a report released earlier this year revealed that over 40% of the students dropped out because the classes were not interesting. Given that even many of the economically deprived have had exposure to computers and high technology, much of the instruction is still based upon the agrian school system that is still the foundation for the U.S. public education system. Also, another survey released by Civic Enterprises suggested that 90% of the drop outs had passing grades, but left again because classes were too boring. When reading more solutions to this problem, the answer is another curriculum based upon existing beliefs that have originated from an agrian economy. The truth is our country failed to restructure education when the industrial revolution happened and still employs a patch approach to fixing the problem. Hence, this is why true education reform has never existed in this country since the 1970's.

One of the best analogies to this problem is to imagine a small miniature horse pulling a cart. The small horse and cart have been covered in fiberglass to look like a modern, high performance vehicle. However, in spite of its high performance looks, it is still a one horse engine. This is what our educational system truly is. And the sooner, we as parents, business people, taxpayers, educational professionals and even students admit the real problem, the sooner we can begin to stop high school drop outs.

If we are committed to Einstein's definition of insanity that being doing the same thing over and over again hoping for different results, education will continue to deliver a negative return on the taxpayers' dollars. However, if we begin to construct a new belief system that is not based upon an agrian economy but one that is based upon a 21st century knowledge and technology economy, we may just begin to turn the tide and retain our high standards of living and our number one position in the global economy.
