Antenatal Classes - Benefits of Various Antenatal Exercise Classes

Variety is a spice of life-this saying has got its implication in regards to antenatal classes. The most popular classes offered for pregnant women are yoga and Pilates focused on toning, stretching, breathing and relaxation.

zumba classes

While I find those classes very beneficial and worth recommending for mums-to-be I would like to draw attention to aerobic training during pregnancy. Not every woman knows that performing cardiovascular exercises is very important and should not be neglected.

CLASSES

Aerobic training improves the efficiency of cardiovascular and respiratory system which is crucial not only during pregnancy. Your heart and lungs can and should be trained while expecting to benefit you and your baby. Touching that subject I would like to point out that holisic approach to training while expecting will definitely benefits a new-mum. Caring for the baby and finding yourself in new setting and coping with new duties will be a lot easier if your body is well trained. One of my client Alex turned to me shortly after her lovely daughter was born. She unfortunately did not exercise during pregnancy and found herself overwhelmed with the influx of new responsibilities-she complained about getting tired and getting out of breath very quickly. When we started working together and gradually improve her stamina she said: "I wish I had done it while I was pregnant-having all that time on my hands then. Now everything would be easier". From my experience I would suggest holistic approach to the training and fitness while expecting.

If finding an antenatal class with elements of aerobics is difficult you can begin walking program. As intensity of the workout is the key during pregnancy, bear in mind you are only training to maintain your fitness level not to improve it. Start of gently and progress gradually. Listen to your body and respect it-if you feel to tired cut down on intensity or duration. Intensity can be checked in various ways. I suggest the easiest option-Talk Test-you should be able to carry on conversation while exercising.

Sample of antenatal beginners walking program

Week 1-4: 10-15 minutes

Week 5-8: 20-25 minutes

Week 9-12: 25-30 minutes

Week 13-16:30-35 minutes

Afterwards maintain the duration of the workout and try to increase intensity.

Views From Brickyard 400 Seats At The Indianapolis Motor Speedway

FRONT STRAIGHTAWAY: This is the second part of a four part series providing information about seating views around the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. With more than 257,000 seats, the world's most famous race track offers a huge selection of seating options. The front straightaway of the speedway consists of two large infield grandstands and 7 grandstands on the outside of the front straightaway, three of which have penthouse seating on the upper deck. The views available from grandstands along the front straightaway are described below.

indianapolis 500 evolution

GRANDSTAND J: On the outside of the front straightaway just at the exit of turn 4, you will find Grandstand J. The seats in this grandstand are bench seats with no back and the grandstand has no roof covering it. As is true with most seating selections at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, the best views of the track are found up high in this grandstand in the double letter rows. Fans sitting up high in this grandstand can see turn 1, the pits, the start/finish line, the front straight away, turn 4, the short chute and part of turn 3. The safety fence tends to obstruct the view of the track for fans sitting down near it, but to some extent, they can still see turn 1, the pits, the front straightaway, turn 4, the short chute and part of turn 3.

INDIANAPOLIS

GRANDSTAND H: Grandstand H sits next to Grandstand J. It is approximately 100 yards farther south of turn 4 than Grandstand J, but otherwise offers similar views of the track. The seats in this grandstand are bench seats with no back and the grandstand has no roof covering it. As is true with most seating selections at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, the best views of the track are found up high in this grandstand in the double letter rows. Fans sitting up high in this grandstand can see the turn 4, the entrants to the pits, and the entire front straightaway. The safety fence tends to obstruct the view of the track for fans sitting down near the track to some extent, but the straightaway, pits, and turn 4 are still visible.

GRANDSTAND C: This grandstand is located on the outside of the front straightaway between Grandstand H and the Paddock. The seats in this grandstand are bench seats with backs and the grandstand partially covered by a roof. Seats closest to the track are not under roof. Seats high in this grandstand offer a better view of the front straightaway than seats down closer to the track but the vertical support beams that support the VIP Suites located above, partially obstruct the view as you look down the straightaway to your left and right. Down closer to the track the vertical steel beam supports do not come into play, but the safety fence will. This grandstand offers good views of the north end of the pits.

PADDOCK: This grandstand sits on the outside of the track. It occupies the largest section of the front straightaway and straddles the start/finish line. The seats in this section have backs and the grandstand is partially covered. The box seats closest to the track are not under cover. Seats high in this grandstand offer better views of the front straightaway than seats down close to the track. Fans will experience some minimal obstruction to their view of the track caused by vertical steel support posts for the Penthouse seating above. Seats closer to the track are not obstructed by the vertical support beams, but do suffer from partial obstruction from the safety fence. The seats in this section sit directly across from the pits. It is possible to see turn four and turn 1 from these seats, although the view is from a considerable distance.

PADDOCK PENTHOUSE: This grandstand sits on the outside of the front straightaway and occupies the largest section of the front straightaway and straddles the start/finish line. It also sits on top of the Paddock and offers more expansive views of the track. The seats in this section have backs and the grandstand is covered with a roof. From these seats it is possible to see turn 1, the front straightaway, the pits, the start /finish line and turn four. Due mostly to the elevated vantage point, the views in this grandstand are considered by most to be very good.

GRANDSTAND A: This grandstand sits on the outside of the front straightaway near, but not in, turn 1. The seats in this section have backs and the grandstand is partially covered. The box seats closest to the track are not under cover. You can generally see the entire front straightaway from these seats, as well as, turn 1, the pits, the start/finish line and turn 4. Vertical support beams obstruct some of the views in the upper rows of this grandstand.

GRANDSTAND A PENTHOUSE: This grandstand sits on the outside of the front straightaway near, but not in, turn 1. This grandstand sits on top of Grandstand A and offers expansive views of the track. The seats in this section have backs and the grandstand is covered with a roof. The views from the penthouse seats are considered very good. It is possible to see turn one, the entire front straightaway, the start/finish line, the pits, turn 4 and the short chute at the south end of the track from these seats.

GRANDSTAND B: This grandstand sits on the outside of the front straightaway near, but not in, turn 1. The seats in this section have backs and the grandstand is partially covered. The box seats closest to the track are not under cover. Seats up high offer a view of the entire front straightaway. There is some vertical support beam obstruction. There is no vertical support beam view obstruction in the seats down closer to the track, but the safety fence obstructs the views of the straightaway the farther down the track you look.

GRANDSTAND B PENTHOUSE: This grandstand sits on the outside of the front straightaway near, but not in turn 1. The seats in this section have backs and the grandstand is covered with a roof. This grandstand offers expansive views of the track. The view from these seats is generally considered excellent. You can see turn 4, the entire front straightway, the pits, the start/finish line, turn 1, the short chute and turn 2 from these seats.

GRANDSTAND E: This grandstand sits on the outside of the track and occupies most of the 1st turn. The seats in this section have backs on them and this grandstand is partially covered with a roof. The views from this grandstand are best in the double letter rows. Because the seats in this section conform with the turn, there can be a big disparity between views depending upon which section you happen to be sitting in. The apex of the turn is close to section 9. Sections in grandstand past 9 (increasing) will begin to lose sight of the front straightaway.

GRANDSTAND E PENTHOUSE: This grandstand sits on the outside of the track and occupies most of the first turn. It also sits on top of Grandstand E. This grandstand offers expansive views of the track. The seats in this section have backs on them and this grandstand is covered with a roof. If you're looking for the best seats at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, this is where you need to look. Grandstand E Penthouse, Box 7 row A is the best view of the track. From these seats you can see turn four, the front straightaway as it head directly toward you, the pits, the start/finish line, turn 1, the short chute and turn two. These seats rarely come up for purchase anywhere, because the people who have the reservation rights renew them every year. They have been doing so for years and even if they don't use them, they generally get passed down to friends or family members. Still, if you happen to run across tickets in this section, you will be well advised to buy them, even if you have to mortgage the house.

Generally, there is a higher demand for seats along the front straightaway, over seats in the third turn, second turn and backstretch, because the race begins and ends there, the celebration to start and celebrate the victory happens there, and all the exciting action in the pits happens there. Tickets in these grandstands sell for a premium. It may be possible to purchase tickets for seats with better views of the track in turns 2 and three, but you will sacrifice the views of the pits and start/finish line pageantry. Parts 3 and 4 of this series will cover the south end of the track and the infield seating, respectively.

CLEP is the Perfect Alternative to Summer Classes

Many college students are weary of the lecture, homework, and study routine by the time summer rolls around. The last thing they want to think about is enrolling in summer school. Instead, many college students prefer to spend the lazy days of summer lounging by the pool or maybe even earn a few bucks with a part-time job.

zumba classes

Of course, this strategy presents a problem. With today's rigorous degree plans, it is usually necessary to enroll in summer classes in order to graduate on time. Students who forgo summer school usually take more than the typical 4 years of study in order to meet their degree requirements.

CLASSES

But there is a solution that combines the relaxed schedule of summer with the need for earning college credit. This solution is known as the College-Level Examination Program, or CLEP. Using CLEP, college students can spend their summers studying at their own pace in preparation for college-level equivalency exams.

Typically, CLEP exams contain material that a student covers in his first two years of college. So, the summer CLEP strategy is most effective during the summers preceding a student's freshman and sophomore year of college. But there are plenty of CLEP exams to choose from! In fact, there are 33 exams on a wide variety of subjects. Students can register for exams that cover anything from "Analyzing and Interpreting Literature" to "Western Civizilation II."

In addition to avoiding the boring routine of traditional classes, CLEP offers other advantages. The financial incentive of choosing a CLEP exam over a traditional class is huge! A CLEP test costs only . On the other hand, the tuition and fees for a traditional college course can be exorbitant! And traditional courses require the purchase of many expensive textbooks. So, the CLEP turns out to be a real value.

CLEP also allows students to quickly bypass those courses in which they're simply not interested. By efficiently CLEPping out of less-interesting courses, students can focus their on-campus time on courses that are more valuable to their major.

In order to get started with CLEP, a student should visit the CollegeBoard's website at http://www.collegeboard.com/clep. There, she will find descriptions of each CLEP test. Also, she should click on the "CLEP college search" link to make sure that her college or university accepts CLEP credit (thousands of colleges accept these credits). After deciding upon which CLEP exams he'd like to take, the student should contact his nearest testing center to register for each CLEP exam.

It's time to put those summer hours to good use by studying for a CLEP test or two. A student can choose the traditional study route by purchasing a textbook and studying on his own. Increasingly, though, students are turning to CLEP prep programs (some are even offered in an online format) in order to maximize the efficiency of their study time.

Come fall, the student will be proud that she put her summer vacation to good use by earning lots of credit through CLEP!

CLEP is the Perfect Alternative to Summer Classes

Taking a CLEP exams and CLEP tests shows colleges that a student is committed to getting a valuable education and is coming to the school prepared and ready to learn.

Are Online Classes Harder or Easier Than Campus Classes?

If you're thinking about taking an online class then this is a question you are probably asking yourself. Unfortunately, there is no easy answer.

zumba classes

When you get right down to it, there should not be much of a difference between a college course taught in a traditional classroom vs. a college course taught via the Internet. The curriculum should be pretty much the same. The assignments should be pretty much the same. The professor should be pretty much the same.

CLASSES

But is that the case?

For the most part, yes. But the reality is that online classes are not always easier, or always harder, than campus classes.

But they are always different.

So the real question you should be asking yourself is "Am I prepared to take an online course?" Here are some of the differences between a campus course and an online course:

- An online course usually does not require you to be online at a specific time. So you must have the discipline to login to your course a few times each week, or as often as your professor or school require. For some people this is the hardest part of taking an online course.

- An online course requires you to be proficient in using a computer. You usually do not need to be a computer expert, but you need to be able to open files, create and save files in the correct format, send and receive email, watch videos, and be able to do online research.

- An online course requires you to interact with other students. While this interaction is not face-to-face, you will need to either interact with other students on a message board, communicate via email in a group, or interact through videoconferencing.

And here are some benefits of taking an online course:

- You can go online at your convenience. Some classes may require you to be online at a specific time for some tasks, but most will be done on your time. So you don't need to change your work or family schedule to be successful.

- You can think about your answers before responding. In a classroom setting, you may need to answer questions right on the spot. While working online, you can think through your answers first.

- You can communicate with everyone equally. Sometimes in a campus course those that talk the most dominate the discussions.

And those that don't sit quietly and don't participate. In an online course everyone gets an equal chance to give their thoughts and opinions.

So, are you ready to take an online course?

It is a great way to learn. With computers such an important part of our personal and professional lives, learning how to learn online is a great skill to have!

Indy 500: Gentlemen and Ladies - Start Your Engines

"Gentlemen and ladies, start your engines" will be the call at the Indianapolis 500 this year, as a pair of female drivers are featured in its 33-car lineup -- one a second-tier hopeful and legitimate contender, the other a true long shot.

indianapolis 500 evolution

Odds on popular pinup girl Danica Patrick range from a low of 15/1 at the Las Vegas Hilton to 30/1 at Bodog.com., with various stops between the two.

INDIANAPOLIS

She's 20/1 at Sportsbook.com and VIP.com and plus .00 at BetCRIS.

Sarah Fisher, another Indy veteran, generally is 200/1 at sportsbooks that include her in their lineups -- some list prices on 20 drivers and lump the rest into a field bet -- and 250/1 at Bodog.

BetCRIS' roster includes 14 drivers and a 20/1 field wager.

The United Kingdom's Dan Wheldon, the 2005 champion, widely is a favorite to wheel into victory lane in the event's 91st running.

Bodog has Wheldon at 9/4, followed by Scott Dixon at 5/2, Tony Kanaan at 4/1 and defending champion Sam Hornish Jr. and two-time Indy champ Helio Castroneves at 5/1.

Bodog is one of the few books that offer odds-to-win on all drivers.

Its lineup includes a number of former champions at long odds, including two-time champ Al Unser Jr. (250/1), Buddy Lazier (150/1) and Buddy Rice (100/1).

Also in the field are members of several prominent racing families, including A.J. Foyt IV (150/1), Michael Andretti (16/1) and Marco Andretti (12/1).

Wheldon is a 5/2 choice at Sportsbook.com, with Castroneves 4/1, Hornish 9/2 and Kanaan and Dixon 5/1.

VIP.com and the Hilton have Wheldon at 3/1 and the next four the same as Sportsbook.com.

Las Vegas bookmaker Micah Roberts of Station Casinos lists his finish order as (1) Hornish, (2) Kanaan, (3) Wheldon, (4) Castroneves and (5) Dario Franchetti.

Franchetti's odds at various bet shops range from 8/1 to 12/1.

Patrick is the focus of one Bodog prop that asks where she will finish.

First through third is 7/2, fourth through eighth is 2/1, ninth through 16th is 3/1, 17th through 22nd is 9/1, 29th through 33rd is 12/1 and will not finish is 2/1.

There is no price on a 23rd through 28th place showing.

In driver matchups, Patrick is a minus .35 choice over Thomas Sheckler (plus .05) and minus .10 dog versus Marco Andretti (minus .20) at Bodog and a minus .35 pick over Victor Meira (plus .15) at the Hilton.

Bodog has Wheldon at minus .40 over Hornish (plus .10) and minus ,25 over Castroneves (minus .05).

Once considered among sports' greatest annual spectacles, the Indy 500 no longer is a shoe in even as the Memorial Day Weekend's biggest auto race.

That honor well may fall to NASCAR's Coca-Cola 600, where Jeff Gordon and Jimmie Johnson are vying for the favorite's role.

Both events will be contested on Sunday, with the Indy at Indianapolis Motor Speedway running first, followed almost immediately by the Coca-Cola at Lowe's Motor Speedway in Concord, N.C.

Several drivers have attempted to run in both races, but current NASCAR star Tony Stewart is the only one to have completed both.

Established starting times now make it impossible for drivers to even ponder doing double duty.
