To put things in perspective, the weight class standardizes fighters who qualify for their respective divisions in regards to their respective weights. As a result, boxing matches using weight standards ensure that competitors who have more or less the same weight and sizes are matched up properly. The result of this implementation is that boxing matches are not uneven and that competition between the fighters can be exciting and orderly at the same time. With standardizing weight classes, the chances of boxing matches turning lopsided (which can frustrate paying spectators) are lessened.

In regards to high achievement, a wide range of boxing champions is also ensured.

It is, however, important to take note that there are some differences on identifying weight classes as far as the different boxing bodies are concerned. For example, the WBO does not have a cruiserweight category while the WBA, IBF, and WBC do.

In the history of boxing, countless boxers have climbed up the weight classes as they progressed with their careers. During his time in the professional boxing circuit,,,Michael,,was noted not only for his winning thirty-one straight fights but also for his achievements on being light heavyweight champion as well as heavyweight champion later.

A boxer who emerges as the best in comparison to other fighters belonging to different weight categories gets declared as the pound-for-pound fighter. Before the pound-for-pound title is declared, a careful analysis is done using factors such as the overall competitive level of the top fighter's opposition, how valuable or exciting the fighter is, and more.

With the boxing weight classes at hand, boxing will remain highly important and at the same time analytic.
