Korean Classes - Why Learn Korean Language?

So why bother learning Korean? Is it worth it to take Korean classes? Many may have some doubts whether learning Korean would be useful or not? I would answer that it is up to you to decide, since different people have different reasons for learning languages. Some may learn it due to business needs. Some may learn it due to their relation to the language. Some may learn it just for pleasure. As for me, learning Korean is not my first time learning foreign language. Actually, Korean is now my 7th language that I'm going to learn. I just love learning languages. It is like a hobby to me. You've got to find the reasons for learning Korean because motivation is a very crucial part in learning languages. Therefore, for someone who wants to try and learn Korean, but don't quite have the reason for learning it. I have presented you here some reasons and motivation to learn this beautiful language, so good luck!

1) Let's start first from the business aspect

If you want to do business in South Korea. Learning Korean is crucial. Although, you can use English as a language for business, but I think knowing Korean would prove useful for the business. Since they will admire you more for learning their language. I don't know about you, but if I'm doing business with foreigners, I would feel more comfortable to be able to communicate with them by the same language. South Korean has one of the major economies in the world. After the Korean war, South Korea has grew significantly. It has the 4th largest economy in Asia and 15th in the world. They are advanced in electronics, cars, robotics area.

2) Korean Culture

Korean history and culture is full of fascinating tales and stories. Korean culture is heavily influenced by China, but also developed a distinct culture of its own. You can see a similarities of Chinese and Korean arts and architecture, but also some distinctions. There are so many aspects of Korea that you can be fascinated about whether it might be sports (Taekwondo), online gamings, cuisines and many more.

3) Korean Media

South Korea is full of excellent movies and series. The Koreans are very successful at spreading there culture through their film and music industry. This is also one of my main reasons to learn Korean. There are so many films and series that you can enjoy, but however, to fully indulge and understand the meaning of what they are saying, understanding their language is preferred.

4) Korean is just a beautiful language!! - sounds good (well, at least to me)

It might be daunting when you first learn the Korean alphabets, or Hangul, but Korean pronunciation seems to just flow beautifully! I just think that it is a beautiful language and it would be nice to speak this language fluently!

5) Traveling to Korea

Going to visit South Korea is on my dream list and I would definitely visit it someday. If you are someone who love or would like to visit South Korea someday, understand their language will increase your experience of your stay exponentially. It would not be very fun if you go to their language and the only mean to communicate with them is your hand language. It would be much more pleasurable to be able to speak their language.

Well, this is some of the many reasons for you to think about learning Korean. These are just my main concerns for learning Korean. Some may match your intention and some may not. But the important part is that you've got to find your motivation to learn the language. Taking Korean lessons may help you, but without the motivation, it's going to be very hard. It is very crucial to learn a language. So go find out your motivation to learn Korean language!
