Indianapolis Motor Speedway

Since its first race in 1911, the Indianapolis Speedway has been known as "The Greatest Spectacle in Racing". The Indy Speedway is known for one of NASCAR's top events, The Indy 500. The track's rich history includes the Yard of Bricks, and the even though the track has been resurfaced many times over the years, bricks from the original track inlaid at the start/finish line to preserve its historical roots.

All sports enthusiasts understand the importance of traditions, and one of the longest standing traditions is winners of the Indy 500 drinking milk. Louis Meyer had his daily drink of milk in 1936 and to his astonishment; it became a tradition that continues to this date. To the delight of its 250,000 fans, the Speedway hosts a full calendar of events throughout the year that will entertain fans of all racing sports. Events include Grand Prix Motorsports, NASCAR, US Formula One Grand Prix, Midget Cars, NHRA Compact, NHRA Drag and much more. One of the world's most famous auto racing museums is found at the Indianapolis Speedway. The museum and the speedway grounds were designated a National Historic Landmark in 1987, and is a major tourist attraction.
